Lead - Reservoir Engineer

The Opportunity

The Lead - Reservoir Engineer is responsible for leading all engineering initiatives related to integrated projects. This high impact, highly visible position includes both technical and leadership responsibilities. This position is responsible to combine knowledge of reservoir development, and basin analysis techniques to generate quality solutions to support exploration efforts and reservoir development challenges.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Perform multi-well (field) reservoir simulation modeling (History matching and forecasting)
  • Lead reservoir simulation in field development projects in unconventional resource plays
  • Capture the uncertainties in the reservoir model and run probabilistic cases to define the most likely outcome
  • Perform compositional PVT modeling, rate-transient analysis, and economic modeling
  • Review and recommend RCA and SCAL testing and integrate analysis into models
  • Actively research and develop innovative solutions, standards, and processes based on client needs
  • Work on integrated projects and lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Understand inconsistencies in various domains and create solutions to ensure the integration of multiple domain data sets
  • Interface with geologists, petrophysics and completions engineers to capture observations in static models for history matching
  • Develop asset optimization strategies to continuously improve the economic performance of the asset

The Individual

The desired candidate profile will include the following skills, experience, credentials and personal attributes:

  • Minimum of a University degree in Petroleum Engineering
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant work experience as a Reservoir Engineer, with five years field development planning experience and six years simulation and/or modeling experience
  • Advanced background in classical reservoir engineering techniques
  • Strongly experienced in PVT analysis and compositional simulations of fluids
  • Well testing (design and interpretation) and fields surveillance experience is required
  • Completion and workover experience is preferred
  • Experienced in applying risk analysis modeling techniques
  • Experience with engineering software’s such as CMG, Saphir, MBAL, PROSPER, Eclipse, OFM, Petrel, or similar
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team
  • Strong teamwork, presentation, and people skills; in addition to possessing the adaptability required to perform in a consulting services environment
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions
